Over the 17 years as a Psychologist, Lauren has developed a passion for understanding how people behave by understanding the dynamic interplay of the individual and the context.

This passion has led to deepening her knowledge of the brain, the nervous system and the contextual settings. This knowledge is applied in her work in clinical, relational and working contexts.

Her passion for wanting to understand human experience has fed an ongoing curiosity to learn. This has resulted in Lauren furthering her research into relevant topics such as stress, burnout, chronic fatigue and trauma. And how these topics influence our capacity to self care. These learnings have translated into the development of various bespoke content driven workshops for teams, as well as HPCSA accredited CPD workshops for other healthcare professionals.

Dr. Lauren Moss is a Counselling Psychologist with professional experience in private practice, NGO, academic, tertiary education and corporate settings.

Dr Lauren Moss conducted a series of workshops for Discovery Health Medical Scheme on stress management and self-care; coming out of the pandemic it was much-needed. Dr Moss’ deep knowledge, empathy and ability to engage with the team is exceptional. She has the ability to create a safe, calm and reflective space which is almost therapeutic in itself, and her guidance through the theory and manageable application of material supported the team to integrate and utilise understanding and techniques to take better care of themselves, in turn contributing to a more engaged and productive working environment.”

Previous Clients

“Lauren’s journey with the University of Pretoria started after I attended a workshop that she presented on stress, burnout and adrenal fatigue and I realised that we need to get her to share her knowledge, skills and expertise within the academic environment especially during the Covid pandemic.

Lauren assisted with various engagements since then and I can attest that her insight, wealth of knowledge, her commitment to evidence-based practice and compassionate engagements with all groups across the university, are impeccable. Lauren always presented with passion and academic vigour, she was ‘on point’ with practical real-life examples she shared enabling attendees to not only gain knowledge on the ‘what’ but the ‘how’ to better manage it. All of these resulted in a rich, meaningful learning experience for UP staff.”
